Situated in the Mactan Shrine near Punta Engano, Mactan Island, Cebu, is a 20-meter bronze monument known as the Lapu-Lapu Shrine. The statue was made in honour of Rajah Lapu-Lapu, a native chieftain of Mactan Island who engaged Ferdinand Magellan in combat at the famous Battle of Mactan in 1521.
